Jamie Baldridge (b. 1975) is a contemporary American photographer and digital artist based in Lafayette, Louisiana. Renowned for his highly manipulated, surreal tableaux vivants, his work explores the "inner dialogues of consciousness" through a lens of magical realism and psychological symbolism.
Baldridge pursued a multifaceted education at Louisiana State University (LSU), where he studied theology and creative writing before ultimately earning both his Bachelor of Fine Arts (2001) and Master of Fine Arts (2005) in photography. This diverse academic foundation is evident in his practice, which often merges complex visual symbolism with "baroque" and "purple" prose. He currently serves as a Professor of New Media and Digital Art at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.
